In draft

We are rebuilding this site in the open. Pages arrive as they are ready, and the most useful things for parents come first. If a corner looks unfinished, it is.

You don't have to book a tour to get to know us.

Five rungs

A tour is a big step when your child is two. There are gentler ways to start.

Many families start looking well before they need to decide. So here are five ways in, at five levels of commitment. Start wherever you actually are. Nobody will chase you up the ladder.

Rung 01 · no contact at all

Read what we write

Facilitators and leadership publish regularly: what the school tried, what it cost and what we would do differently. Free, no signup, and you do not need a child here.

It is the easiest way to find out whether our philosophy survives contact with an ordinary school day.

Roots of All Beings What we write about

Rung 02 · still anonymous

Ask anything, without giving us your details

The assistant on this site answers from what the school has published, and says so when it doesn't know. Ask it the awkward things. We would rather you interrogated us than a directory listing.

Or run the two instruments: the fit test will tell you if this is the wrong school for you, and the cost calculator prices the first two years against whatever else you are considering.

Ask the assistant Fit test True cost

Rung 03 · a morning of your time

Come to an open house

Open house events are offered on Saturdays from time to time. Register here so our admissions team can tell you when the next one is.

Rung 04 · one ordinary day

Send your child for a shadow day

Your child spends a full ordinary day in the class they would actually join.

You get their verdict, which is the one that matters. We get to see how they are in a room. If it goes badly, we will both know, and that is a useful outcome too.

Arrange a shadow day

Rung 05 · part of applying

Two to three days with us

As part of admissions, your child spends two to three days at school for assessment and observation, going through a school day with other children.

It is how we get to know your child before we decide, and how your child gets to know us.
