“Play is the highest expression of human development in childhood, for it alone is the free expression of what is in a child’s soul’” – Friedrich Froebel
COVID- 19 has led to safeguarding risks for children and over-rated fears in the minds of children, Loneliness, absence of physical play and lack of social learning opportunities results in anxiety and in several cases disinterest tin working with the parents. To cope up with stress on children during current times, Prakriti organised webinars with prominent social-emotional learning expert and a mentor at Prakriti, Ms. Vinita Krishna, on t”Coping with COVID-19 unseen impact on children ”. There were three parts to the webinar: to address specific issues of parents of 2-5 year olds, 6-8 and 9-12 year olds. The webinar focussed brilliantly on creating playful homes, empathising with children’s emotions and not reacting as well as taking calculated risks in providing social engagements for children. We witnessed enthusiastic participation from our parents. Some have reported implementing takeaways from this webinar. For detailed viewing and listening, click on the following link of the webinar
