Trip to Red Fort was undertaken this month to understand the siege of 1857 and enable the learners to connect with the theme they are studying currently.
Historical trips can make history come alive through an understanding of the art, culture and architecture. It also enables the viewer an insight into geo- politics and other finer details by comparing past to present. It is a whole package to learn new things in various dimensions.Certain topics like oppression ,rebellion, abolition, freedom which cannot solely be explained through words can be experienced through visual creation on site.
History is not a monolithic narration of the past, but rather a playground of multiple interpretations and scope for diverse interpretations of the past in light of multiple evidences and sources ranging from literary, architectural and oral histories. This half-day study tour aims to help students engage in thoughtful interpretation of diverse sources to challenge various historical misconceptions. Students are expected to analyze a variety of sources like maps, paintings, contemporary primary sources, artifacts that present alternate voices and perspectives of the past.

Learners also saw the trip from an art and design perspective. There were many different types of architecture with contrasting Indian and British influences. Here are a few glimpses of the day.
